In its commentary piece entitled “Keep the Knowledge Coming” published on January 30, 2008, the Star-Ledger (Newark) expressed support for the New Jersey Knowledge Initiative, a program recently underfunded by the state legislature. If funding is not restored before the end of February, New Jersey’s universities will lose access to 11 key databases.
“For want of $1 million, the state of New Jersey is in danger of losing databases worth at least $74.5 million now provided free to state universities and colleges and hundreds of small businesses.”
